The Maryland Department of Agriculture's Plant Protection & Weed Management Section offers tick identification. Fill out the form below, attach the tick, and mail both to MDA. You'll receive a letter identifying the tick species.

How to Submit

  1. Fill out the Tick Identification Form - DOCX - 35.53 KB.
  2. Tape the tick to a small piece of paper, or place it in a dry container — no alcohol.

  3. Mail the tick and form to:
