Section 18 of the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA) authorizes the Administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to allow States to use a pesticide for a limited time if EPA determines that emergency conditions exist. Please Note: Use of a product under a Section 18 in the State of Maryland requires that the applicator must have in their possession, at the time and place of the pesticide application, a Maryland Section 18 label, drafted by the manufacturer of the product and approved by the Maryland Department of Agriculture (MDA) for the product being used.
