Apply for or Renew a Stable License

How to apply for a new stable license

  1. Create an account in Maryland OneStop
  2. Follow the steps outlined our How-to-Guide to Apply for a New Stable License - PDF - 5.13 MB to complete and submit the application and pay the $125 annual fee online. 
  3. Once the Maryland Horse Industry Board receives your application, a stable representative will contact you to set up an initial inspection.
  4. Once you pass inspection, you will receive your license, which must be posted in your stable.
  5. The stable license is valid for one year and must be renewed annually.

How to renew your stable license

License renewal applications and fees are due on or before July 1 of each year. The one-year licensing period runs from July 1 through June 30 of the following year.

When renewing your stable license, make sure your stable is in compliance with Nutrient Management.

  1. Sign into your Maryland OneStop account
  2. Follow the steps outlined in our How-to-Guide to Renew yo​ur Stable License - PDF - 3.52 MB to complete and sumbit the application and pay the $125 annual fee online. 
  3. Once Maryland Horse Industry Board receives your application, you will receive your license, which must be posted in your stable.

If you lose your OneStop log-in credentials

If you have lost your login credentials, click on the “log in” button and click on “forgot your password?” Instructions will be emailed to you.

If you get a message that states “email is not found,” or if you don’t receive the instructions, email [email protected] so we can confirm or update your email. Then you will need to create an account. How to Create an Account is available here - PDF - 1.97 MB after you speak with a MHIB Staff member.

If you'd like a paper application

Licensees who applied on paper, please email [email protected] to request a paper application. 

Paper applications will take weeks to receive and renew. A much slower process than online, but we will get your check processed and a paper application will be mailed out within 60 days. 

Fees

  • Stable license: $125
  • Renewal: $125
  • Late fee: If a stable license is renewed on or after September 1st, a non-negotiable $100 late fee will be applied
