About the Maryland Agricultural Fair Board Grant
The Maryland Agricultural Fair Board (MAFB) fosters agriculture by promoting and assisting agricultural fairs and exhibits through an annual grant program.
Who Can Apply
Agricultural fairs, shows, and other qualifying events are eligible to apply to receive a reimbursable grant that assists with the payment of premiums, ribbons, or other awards to exhibitors.

Applications can be found on Maryland OneStop. The application is titled the Maryland Agricultural Fair Board Grant Application.

Step-by-Step Guidance
- Log on to Maryland OneStop. Be sure to assign a login email and password to your organization, not just one individual.
- Search for & select "Maryland Agricultural Fair Board Grant Application".
- Once you get to the “Maryland Agricultural Fair Board Grant Application” page, select “Apply Now”.
- Proceed through the grant application, filling all sections with an asterisk*:
- At any point during the application process, you can exit the application and it will auto-save the information you have inputted. To return to your application, log in to OneStop and click “My Dashboard”. Your application will appear under “My Recent Applications”.
- Most information carries over from year to year and can be edited when there is turnover on the board. Input information for each board member. This will take some extra effort on year 1 but will save time for future applications!
- The total grant request will be the sum of all premiums, awards, ribbons, trophies, and “other”. If your actual request is different than the sum of these numbers, provide the “actual” request and justification in the bottom box.
- Animal health information will be shared with the MDA State Veterinarian and Animal Health Program. You will not need to submit a separate "Notification Form for Livestock & Poultry Exhibitions".
- Review the application and click “Submit”.
- You will receive a notification that you successfully submitted your application & will be notified by email that it was received.
- Your application will now appear as “In-Review” under “My Dashboard”.
What Happens After you Apply
If the board notices an error while reviewing your application, you will receive an email notification. To make a revision
- Go to “My Dashboard” and select your application.
- You will see a yellow marker identifying the revision necessary.
- Make the necessary changes and click “Complete”.
- Review the application again and click “Submit”.
- You will receive a notification that you successfully submitted your application & will be notified by email that it was received.
- After the regional meetings, the board will approve/deny funds, and allocate grants to the awardees. You will receive an email with the grant amount and subsequently a contract will be sent to each organization via email.
After-Activity Reporting
After-activity reports will be due within 45 days of the event, and can be found on your OneStop dashboard.
- Your grant will appear with a Unique ID under “License, Permits & Registrations” on “My Dashboard”. Click your Grant ID.
- Here, you will find a summary of your application.
- Click the “Actions” drop down menu, select “Complete After Activity Report”.
- Input all information, including the premium summary & click “Submit”.
- You will receive a confirmation screen & email.
What happens after you submit your report
If the board notices an error while reviewing your report, you will receive an email notification. To make a revision:
- Return to “My Dashboard” and click “After Activity Report”.
- Sections that need revision will be marked with a yellow dot and/or box. Make the necessary revisions.
- Review the application again and click “Submit”.
- You will receive a notification that you successfully submitted your application & will be notified by email that it was received.
- Once the board reviews your After Activity Report, you will receive a notification and payment will be processed.
Renewing your Application
- Once you have established your application in OneStop, you will have to annually renew your application instead of re-apply from scratch. To find your initial application, you must log onto OneStop and select “My Dashboard”. You will find your unique ID application under “My Licenses, Permits & Registrations”.
- Click on your application ID and select “Renewal” under the “Actions” dropdown tab.
- The “Grant Application Renewal” confirmation will appear, click “Confirm”.
- Review the application, make the necessary changes in any field, and submit your application renewal similar to the initial steps in the application process!
